After a shower, food, and a nap post WDW 10k, it was time for the Cigna Social Media Meetup!
I’ve gotten to participate in these events before and they are always so much fun. I learn something and get to meet a lot of great people in real life. This year is was at the Atlantic Dance Hall at the Boardwalk so I got to play the Disney transportation game. A bus to Hollywood Studios then a boat to Swan/Dolphin and a short walk over the bridge (I could’ve stayed on the boat to the Boardwalk but it would’ve taken longer) to the Boardwalk area. Let’s go!
Cigna is a great partner for runDisney to have since they are dedicated to helping people take care of the health in a holistic way. This year we got to play games and participate in activities that related to knowing our numbers related to our health.
I was on team Daisy and while we didn’t come in first, we definitely had spirit! We had to throw sugar packets in buckets, flip cups on water bottles, stack apples, stack blocks on our heads, and perform other activities that highlighted healthy habits.
Dani (T: @IrishEyes1982) tossing sugar packets in buckets!
Gail (T: @OrlandoTiki) stacking those cups like a queen!
Laura (I: @Laurafrye_NYC) flipping those cups like a boss!
I learned things like:
- Only 27% of Americans get the recommended amount of vegetables
- We should be getting only 25-30g of added sugar each day
- A health adult should only get 2,300 mg of sodium a day
We then got a visit from the best docs around…
Look how cute they are! I still giddy when I meet Mickey and Minnie!
After an afternoon of fun, I wound down in the Beach and Yacht club before meeting up with the running Ohana for some drinks. We hung out and then it was time to head back to the resort to wind down for the WDW Half Marathon and day 3 of the Dopey Challenge. Thanks Cigna for a great event!
Disclosure: I was invited and received lunch and a Disney gift card for attending this event. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
