Hi all,
Told you I’d be back with more fun run reviews! I’m also excited because it’s about the middle of the year so it’s time for another round of goal setting (I’ve actually been working on one that I can’t wait to share).
Before we get there though, let’s talk hydration!
We all know it and love it but during the summer it plays a SUPER important roll in… well… not dying.
I’ve never had a hydration belt and since I’ve always had a 20oz handheld from Amphipod. Yep I’ve been running with (an older model) of their Hydraform Jett-Lite 20oz for 3 years now so I was SUPER excited to upgrade!
Meet the Hydraform Ergo-Lite Ultra 20oz handheld!
This sleek handheld water bottle comes in 2 sizes (16oz and 20oz) and features a large pocket where you can store your phone, your keys, and some other knick knacks like your GU or Nuun. You could probably fit 4 GU or 2 tubes of Nuun in that pocket. It’s spacious and stretchy!
Compared to my older amphipod it felt similar but just with a lot more carry capacity. I was able to just take this on my trail run, where before I’d have to wear a SpiBelt AND have my handheld.
My old Amphipod and my new one!
The mouth of the bottle isn’t a pop up, rather it’s pressurized so you have to squeeze it to get liquid to come out. This is what they call the Jett-Squeeze™ cap. I never had a problem with spilling but sometimes when the bottle was pretty empty, if I didn’t tip it enough I just ended up puffing some air into my mouth.
The best part is how thoughtful they are about the adjustable strap. It goes over your hand snuggly so you don’t have to worry about dropping your water bottle. You don’t even really need to “hold” the water bottle, your hand will just naturally fold around it because it’s ergonomic like the name implies.
I’m still working on finding the perfect “goldilocks” tightness for the strap but I’m so excited to have this bottle for my hot, hot, hot summer runs. It’s a great running buddy!
How do you hydrate on your runs? Let me know if the comments below!

Hey, I am in the market to replace my old amphipod bottle and while doing research came across this post. Thanks for the review. I think the model i’m looking at may be slightly newer than the one you reviewed here but I think it’s still relevant as one of my concerns was going to the Jett-Squeeze™ cap. Thanks again for sharing.
