So you know when you find that one piece of gear that just makes cold morning runs that much better? Well these are those tights!
2XU is a brand dedicated to amazing compression and these tights with their snug fit, wider waist band, and reflective details do the trick!
Meet the HYOPTIK Mid-Rise Thermal Compression 3/4 Tights!
Awhile back I got the chance to review a pair of 2XU compression tights and those were amazing but this pair were just what I needed as the temperatures dropped here in Colorado. These tights perfectly combine what I love about 2XU, high quality and proven compression, with what I need, thermal lined leggings to keep my legs warm during winter runs.
What’s does HYOPTIK mean?
HYOPTIK is 2XU’s line of gear that has reflective detailing to keep you visible in low-light levels (or in my case pitch black, pre-dawn light levels). They have everything from compression socks, to vests, and even jackets (more on that another time).
These tights are thick enough that they will keep you warm on a 20 degree run but thin enough that they will wick moisture and feel fairly lightweight. There were a couple single digit mornings that I wore 2 pairs of tights keeping these as the base layer to get the most of its compression profile!
What do I like most about these tights? THE WAISTBAND! The waist band is thick and made from the same fabric as the tights. It doesn’t pinch in weird ways or dig into your hips since it’s a nice thick band. They even have a small pocket built in to slip your key into, they are great!
I really can’t say enough good things about the HYOPTIK Thermal Compression Tights and they are quickly becoming the item I wash most since I want to wear them on all my runs!

do these tights make my butt look fast??? Tee-hee, I’m stealing that one! 🙂
