The race weekend has remained very familiar over the years. The half marathon continues to start and finish near the Disneyland hotel and the 5k has been a favorite for runners of all ages since 2006!
2006: The first winners of the Disneyland half marathon were Kevin Broady and Kim Jones. There were 11,978 finishers in this first race weekend!
2010: Rachel Booth runs to be the women’s winner and sets the current course record of 1:15:20.
2010: The runDisney organization is officially announced uniting all the endurance events across Florida and California at the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. Jeff Galloway is also announced as the official training consultant!
2012: Jimmy Grabow runs to win the Disneyland Half and also sets the current course record of 1:05:29.
2013: The inaugural 10k and Dumbo Double Dare are run, extending the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend to 4 days and also gives California its first challenge race on the tail of the success of the Goofy Challenge in WDW.
2014: Hosted the largest half marathon field to date at 15,979 finishers, with 10,144 being female. You go girls!
