Weekly Podcast Roundup - Aug 24, 2018

Just in time for your weekly long run… here are the podcasts that caught my ear this week:

1. I checked out a new podcast this week: Healthy or Hoax

It has a very Science Versus vibe but focuses on food and fitness trends and the discussion on coconut oil taught me a lot about something I know about but not really.

Check it out:

Or on Spotify here.

2. So I’m studying public administration with the hopes of continuing to work in city government and this discussion about affordable housing was really great on The Weeds. This is a major issue for many cities and they give it a balanced and realistic take that acknowledges the difficulty of this issue. I highly recommend it if you want some policy food for thought or just want to get some new perspectives.

Check it out:

Or on Spotify here.

3. Mousetalgia! This is by far my favorite Disneyland focused podcast. They have great discussions and get to interview amazing people and last week they interviewed the current owners of the That Is Disneyland collection which goes to auction in the next couple weeks. It’s fun to hear their stories about how the collection grew, why they are auctioning it, and what growing up with a Dumbo ride vehicle in their home was like!

Check it out:

Or on Spotify here.

4. A new podcast for me this week is Reply All and this episode was an intriguing journey into the world of telecommunications as they try to solve "The Case of the Phantom Calls"

Or listen on Spotify here.

Perennial Favorite: The 1A specifically the Friday News Roundup - this is what I listen to EVERY long run. It’s always about 90 min with 45 min on US domestic news and 45 min on international news. It’s nice and long, nice and informative, and a great way to get a digest of the top news from the week!

Happy running and listening friends! Stay curious!
