Hello all - I take this brief intermission from all the fun that is WDW Marathon Weekend and my 3rd Dopey Challenge to review some sunglasses. Yes, Dopey is going well. I felt great at the half today but it all comes down to tomorrow and 26.2 miles!
But enough about that, I'll share that all with you later. On to the review!
XX2i Optics is a performance sunglass brand that is dedicated to athletes that want to make a difference everyday. They know we dedicate ourselves to our sport and to our health, and they want to support us as we achieve new goals.
They have 3 frame styles, France1, France2, and USA1, and have endless options of nose pieces, ear pieces, and interchangeable lenses. Less frames, means more options to play with accessories!
I got to try out the USA1 style frame and came with 2 additional ear/nose piece color options!
Here's the official product description:
Mine came with blue polarized lenses (which block the glare from reflective surfaces) and aren't super dark. They are perfect for any time from dawn to dusk and did a great job keeping all that snow glare out of my eyes!
I also tested them over Christmas out in California on the SF Peninsula coast!
They performed great in both cases! I also ran with them for the WDW Half Marathon this morning for when the sun did come up but unfortunately it was foggy the whole time. They road perfectly atop my head/hat though!
The nose piece is very comfortable and the ear pieces are snug. Maybe a little too snug on my rather large/wide head (for context me and my 6' 1" boyfriend wear the same size hat and I normally have to by unisex sunglasses). Other than that they are pretty great!
The lenses don't smudge too easily but since they are polarized, your phone screen will look weird when you have them on, something that happens with any polarized lense.
I even swapped out the nose piece for blue since I like that better, and it was pretty easy once I figure out what I was doing!
Overall I think these are a solid pair of sunglasses great for running, biking or whatever you are doing outside!
