I've Got the Power! (ENERGYbits Review)

Hello all!

A few weeks ago I was asked if I wanted to try out ENERGYbits and I jumped on it. I had heard some great buzz about them and I had a rough marathon because of some GI problems, so I was game to try out some new, natural fuel!

So what are ENERGYbits? They are organically grown, spirulina algae and are chock full of nutrients and concentrated protein.

"Remarkably, ENERGYbits® have just one ingredient, spirulina algae which is a super hero in the world of super foods. Spirulina’s nutritional pedigree is so impressive that The World Bank, NASA and Olympic athletes have all declared spirulina to be the most nutritious food in the entire world" -From ENERGYbits website

Pretty impressive right? Each bit has 1 calorie, 64% of it is protein, and is full of vitamin A and vitamin B's that support an energy boost!

I got this nice little package which included 55 bits, so I set out to give them a try!

First impressions, they kind of smell like the fish flakes you'd feed to your household pet, which makes sense because they are algae based. They do not recommend chewing them because of their "green" taste and with their small size it's easy to swallow 5 at a time with water.

A suggested serving size is 30 bits, since I only had 55, I wanted to spread them a bit more so I took 10-15 at a time. I probably wasn't getting the full boost that is expected, but I was able to get most of the benefits.

15 little bits!

I tried them on a variety of runs. I would wake up, swallow about 15 and then head out and it gave me a nice sustained boost. Usually, on morning runs I eat some fruit snacks or Starburst to super charge my blood sugar, and by the time I'd get back home that boost is completely gone. With ENERGYbits though, I would come home feeling better than when I had left. I also enjoyed eating a product that was good for me! I took 20 before a 6 miler, and I felt great and had no GI problems! Woo hoo!

I also tried them after a "fun" night with friends before my run and it helped a lot! I wasn't super excited for that run but, by the time I came home, I was feeling great and even stronger than when I had started!.

I'm excited to get some more and continue to learn how best to use my bits! I'm also intrigued by one of their other products, RECOVERYbits!

You can buy a bag of 1,000 bits for $115.00 dollars!
